Let's just begin with last Summer was when Jared and I first met. I had just gotten out of a relationship and had made clear rules for myself that boys were not going to be part of my life for a while. I was perfectly content doing my own thing. I had made a lot of friends that summer and I was confident that it would remain that way. I was loving being independent and loved that I finally had control over my life. Nothing was stopping me. I felt on top of the world. I had not a care in the world. But of course, life has a funny way of working out.
I wish I could say that we had that perfect love story, ya know...boy meets girl...girl falls in love...boy breaks her heart...boy realizes he's an idiot...wedding bells ring...baby #1 comes along. But that's not how it happened. In fact, the exact opposite happened...boy meets girl...boy falls in love...girl breaks his heart...girl realizes she's an idiot...and lets multiply that "girl breaks his heart" part by 3 shall we?
So lets get into the nitty gritty...
It all started during the best week of the entire year...nope not the week before Christmas...Shark week. Jared had asked me on our first date which was taking place after our ward talent show that night. I spent at least a good solid hour getting ready....curled my hair, picked out my outfit (jeans, white t, with my coral cardigan) and was ready to make my grand entrance at the ward talent show. I wanted him to take one look and me and say, "I have a date with that girl tonight and I want everyone to know about it."
I was under the impression that we were leaving straight from the talent show for our date. So, after the talent show concluded, I walked out with Jared, purse in hand, feeling confident in my choice of apparel, ready to flirt and was definitely workin' it. I was slightly embarrassed when Jared turned to me and said, "okay, so I'll pick you up in an hour at your apartment?"
Me: (trying to act cool) yah that sounds great! I'll see you then.
My thoughts at that very moment were: Are you kidding me??? I looked like a complete idiot especially since Jared had seen me earlier on in the day with straight hair, regular jeans and t-shirt. I totally looked like I was trying way too hard...probably because I was. I reminded myself that I was not even getting involved with boys. I played it cool...went home and waited upon his arrival...
Stay tuned for Part 2...

I think I wanna marry you...
So I know the song "Marry you" by Bruno Mars is sooooo last year but can you hate me for loving it so much? I'm sure you could but whatever. This song came on pandora the other day at work and I am not one bit ashamed to say that I may or may not have listened to it about 10 times....maybe 15...and you better believe my feet were dancing underneath that desk. I don't think it would've been appropriate for me to break out in my perfect choreographed dance to this song....i wish. Jared showed me this video clip and I nearly cried...maybe because it's a fun way to propose but probably more because I wish I could dance like him.

Mom?
Should I be a little worried that Jared called me "mom" a few days ago? I mean...I love his mother and she is one of the sweetest most kind-hearted women I know. So should I feel flattered that my wonderful husband would address me as mom? This is how the scenario panned out...
Dallas: "Hey those shoes are looking good with that outfit"
Jared: "Yah I know right?"
Me: (in a different room yelling out) "What shoes are you wearing?"
Jared: What mom?....uhhhhhhh
Me: What did you just call me?
In his defense I think it was because he was talking to Dallas and the woman he associates with Dallas is probably his mother? Yah...that's gotta be it. I'm sure that's it. Love you Jare!

WWW: What We did this Weekend
This weekend has been an absolute blast. Jared's brother, Dallas, just
got home from deployment in Afghanistan and came up to visit us. It was
so much fun to reunite and have him here. It was weird to think that the
last time we saw him was before we were even engaged! Here is Dallas
and Jared...two very good looking men I must say....
Dallas is a trooper for bummin it on our couch all weekend long...probably not the most comfortable thing to sleep on but hey...it's a good lookin' couch nonetheless.
What was the main event of the weekend? Lots and lots of this....
My brother, Doug, was kind enough to lend us his N64 for the weekend. The boys enjoyed living in the glory days playing mario kart....let's not forget about Tony Hawk (actually I played that more than the boys did I think :))
I guess mario kart wasn't the main event...but it is what we spent most of our time doing. The main event would have to be going to our good friends' James and Lindsay's wedding reception. Their reception actually looked quite similar to ours, the colors were different, but the style was just the same. They had to do their wedding reception a week before they actually got married due to her parent's being mission presidents out in Michigan. So it's a little weird that they still are not married. Jared and I along with some of the other groomsmen were videographers for it and it was actually quite fun. Now if I could only figure out how to get all that footage on my computer...
Here is the beautiful bride and groom.
Annnnd one of Jare and I just for kicks...

One year
On Tuesday night Jare and I celebrated our one year anniversary of when we started dating. Ridiculous?...I think not. We went out to eat at good ol' Brick Oven..absolutely delicious. We then went up to Y-mountain...one of our favorite spots while we were dating. Jared surprised me with a binder of all the notes we have written each other throughout the past year. I have been meaning to do it for a while but just never got around to it so it was definitely a nice surprise. I had totally forgotten about that first note I wrote him accompanied by a plate of brownies, wishing him good luck on his exam. I had forgotten about the precious blue highlighter scribbles my niece Brookie had drawn for him...yes...he included that in there too. All the notes that explained how sorry I was for not wanting to date him but yet how much I admired him (I was such a tease and didn't even know it). All of his notes....rather bullet points of what he wanted to tell me when we were having one of our weekly "talks" on the steps. All of the notes that got us from just here....
to here...
Love story part 1 coming soon...

Christmas Already?
I have decided to expand my so-called business if you will to be other than just headbands. And since Christmas is approaching, what a better time to do than now. I have been on a pinterest frenzy and can't get enough of it. There are SO many projects that I want to do. There are a few craft fairs that I will be attending in the next two months and they are all holiday fairs so I need to get going on my holiday crafts. Just a few of the things on my list...(I tried loading pictures but it kept pulling up an error so you'll just have to imagine)
-Burlap stockings
-button ornamnets
-LOTS of ideas for picture frames (the possibilities are endless)
-Christmas signs
-gift tags
-and much much more
I'm usually not the type to get excited for Christmas until Thanksgiving is long over but all these projects are getting me excited! can't wait!

Bridal Veil Falls
Jared and I went up to Bridal Veil falls on Conference Sunday to look at all the changing fall leaves! it was absolutely gorgeous and it was also nice to get up and walk around after sitting for two days straight listening to conference. Oh so worth it though. There were tons of people there so I guess everyone else had the same idea as us. Just a couple pictures for you to document the occasion...
